I would recommend Muse to ANYONE who has a creative mind and enjoys learning about a wide variety of interesting subjects. I started reading the magazine back when it was new in 1997, and read every issue until I went away to college. It is not an exaggeration to describe Muse as my favorite magazine in existence. I wish I had kids so that I could justify the expense of subscribing to it again. There are plenty of magazines out there that are informative, and many that are fun, but none comes close to the perfect combination of those two elements that is achieved with Muse. |

Even adults will learn from it! |

My son received a Muse gift subscription and not only does he enjoy it, but I read it from cover to cover too! The articles are well-written and cover an amazing array of topics throughout the year. The writing style isn't just "dumbed down" for kids, but written in a way that makes understanding easier. Some of the articles have even sparked a desire for further research on his part. Wow-entertainment disguised as learning that makes you want to learn more...don't tell your kids! I've just renewed our subscription and we'll be trying to beat one another to the mailbox. |

Fantastic magazine. But buy it directly from the publisher. The subscription price is exactly what amazon is offering, anyway, and you'll get it a lot faster. We also bought two sets of a year's worth from eBay. |

Seems interesting to my 11 yr. old |

I purchased this for my 11 year old son. the first issue came this week. He said he only had time to skim it but the articles seemed interesting to him and he is looking forward to reading them. I also skimmed throught the first issue and it did seem to be different than anything else I have seen. |

you'll want to read it yourself |
My eight year old son loves this magazine. So do I -- I have to snitch his copy when he's not looking.
Another review I read said the reading level is too low. This might be true. After a couple of years I have no doubt my advanced reader 2nd grader will be ready for adult magazines with similar content. But for now, this is perfect.
Plus...no ads!
I took a tip from these reviews and ordered the magazine straight from the publisher website and not here from Harvardbooksellers, though. I hope Harvardbooksellers's magazine supplier works out their problems -- too many people have posted too many stories of 12, 16 week or longer waits before getting their magazine for me to want to order here. Harvardbooksellers listen up! |
